When Advocacy Becomes Personal…
Earlier this week, I had the honor of helping write a press release for Pulse – Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy, an organization that I proudly serve as a board member. This release called attention to the growing crisis in our healthcare system—and it hit home in a deeply personal way.
The headline said it all:
“New York’s Healthcare System Is Reaching a Breaking Point.”
This wasn’t media hype—it was a sobering reality check. We talked about:
- The soaring costs of health insurance premiums
- The shrinking number of carriers leaving patients with fewer options
- The rising burden of insurance pre-authorizations, delaying vital treatments
- Medicare reforms that are confusing both patients and providers
- And Medicaid spending projected to hit record highs in 2025—right as budget cuts are on the table
These aren’t just headlines—they’re warning signs. And when people are scared, confused, or overwhelmed, they’re more vulnerable than ever to misinformation, scams, or simply making the wrong decisions.
I was proud to help bring these issues to light through the press. But I also realized that we can’t stop at just raising awareness. We have to be the solution.

Why I Founded Safe Haven Insurance
Safe Haven isn’t just a name—it’s a promise. I created this agency to be a resource and a refuge for anyone trying to navigate today’s complicated and often hostile healthcare landscape.
Whether you’re:
- An individual buying health insurance for the first time
- A small or large business owner needing group coverage
- Approaching or already enrolled in Medicare
- Looking for custom or out-of-the-box insurance solutions
We’re here to help.
At Safe Haven, we work with many carriers and offer real-world solutions that make sense—not just what’s trending or convenient. This is also why I volunteer with both NAIPC and Pulse—because I believe deeply in being a trusted voice and guide for the community.

You Don’t Have to Navigate It Alone
If you have questions about:
- Your current health plan
- Your Medicare options
- Avoiding scams and misleading sales pitches
- Choosing insurance for the first time
Please call me or anyone on the Safe Haven team. We are here for you. There are no dumb questions. We don’t do high-pressure sales. We do real conversations, honest answers, and people-first solutions.
Contact the Safe Haven Team at 631-608-1137 or info@SafeHavenInsuranceAgency.com.

Advocacy isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s just showing up. Asking a question. Paying attention. Saying, “Hold on—can you explain that again?”
If you’ve ever done that for a loved one—or if someone’s ever done it for you—you’re already part of this movement.
Let’s keep looking out for each other.
